Growing up in a Catholic household, I was often exposed to religious art and iconography. I have always been intrigued by the symbolism and flat look found in religious iconographic work. heck, it is powerful enough to move people to life-long devotion. It also underscores a theme I revisit over and over and over; You must always assess and reassess the world and our place in it. Take something familiar and attempt to look at it from a different perspective. You may just discover something new that transforms you into something that you weren’t yesterday.
