"Pax et Amor" is a Latin phrase translating to “Peace and Love".
I think the title does a good job of conveying where I was coming from with this series. Growing up in a Catholic household, I was often exposed to religious art and iconography. Over the years, the meaning and my personal connection to religious art has changed quite significantly. With all that said, this series is not completely about religion. It’s also about us and how we relate to the symbolism, themes and ideas found in the images that guide our beliefs.
